How a build goes

No two projects are alike

Below is how a complete rotisserie restoration usually goes at Finn's. Some owners want less than this and some want more, and either is fine. Tell us the budget and the outcome you have in mind, and we will tell you honestly what it takes to get there.

  1. 01

    Disassemble & Strip

Every piece comes off and gets catalogued until there is nothing left to unbolt. Old paint sanded, undercoating and seam sealer scraped by hand, then onto the rotisserie, blasted back to clean steel, and epoxy primer over every inch of it before anything can flash rust.

  2. 02

    Metal

Rust is the part most people underestimate, and it is the part we are best at. When no reproduction panel exists we hand-form the steel ourselves, and we still work lead where the factory filled a seam that way.

  3. 03

    Suspension & Chassis

Rebuilt or replaced to be better than new. Bigger brakes, stainless fuel and brake lines, better control arms, power steering, coil-overs, a stronger rear end, posi, four wheel discs, sway bars. As much or as little as the car is meant to do.

  4. 04

    Body & Paint

Polyester primer, then blocked through three grits. Urethane primer, then blocked through three more. At 320 we wipe the car down and have you sight along the body yourself, because you are the one who has to look at it in the driveway.
